Re: Pearl camera

There are route reasons why you might choose open book. I have Kurzweil 1000. But I like the idea of just being able to take a picture quickly and read it inside of jaws. That is why I purchased it. I asked them about open book and there are no plans to discontinue that product.

Well, I don't see how openbook can go away yet, as they would have to
take all features and move them to jaws before they can discontinue,
and I don't see that happen.

Yes, the Pearl camera works with JAWS 2018. I ordered one yesterday. I
received an email and I also had a JAWS notice. That is why it is on sale
for $295.00 right now. I tried to enter the code but it didn't work so I
called VFO and ordered it. Hopefully, it will come soon.

The Email I received offering the Pearl for $295 was for all Jaws 2018
2018 fusion customers and said the pearl would work with Jaws 2018. I see
it that FS has incorporated part of Open Book into Jaws 2018 and Open
is on its way out. Of course Open Book hasn't been updated for years.

Isn't the Pearl camera supposed to work with the latest JAWS OCR?

Anyone got any experience with using the Pearl Camera versus a flat bed
scanner for use with Jaws 2018? Just got the notice that the Pearl
camera is on sale for users of Jaws 2018. Is the Pearl easier to use?
Does it produce better scanning results over a flat bed scanner?
