According to what I've read, JAWS 2018 can now use the camera directly in its OCR function. I haven't bought one, but I did notice the VFO advertisement. I'm particularly interested in scanning printed mail, and I may also need reliable book scanning in the future.

From my experience, the Pearl camera only works with Openbook. It cannot be used with other scanning applications. If anyone knows different, let me know.
