I have no idea, Holger.
Perhaps I did not read clearly all the prior posts.
I am only talking about pc software, and am not versed at all in that IPhone
stuff as of yet.
I thought we were talking about using JAWS with a computer.

that we have.

This is to reply to those on the current thread about using ITunes.
I personally do not care for the ITunes that much. Although I have also not
really tried that hard.
I have read things about consumer protection that concern me.

I have been using Media Monkey for my media database program.
www.mediamonkey.com

This program is pretty great, powerful and versatile, but it does not use
keyboard shortcuts as well as I would like. It is free, or you can purchase
an inexpensive Gold version for lifetime of upgrades. After adjustments, I
have been able to use it pretty well with JAWS, though I could use some tips
from more powerful JAWS users.

I have been using Windows Media Player for ripping music to my library.

However, since getting a Windows 7 machine, I find I am not yet comfortable
with how to navigate in the newer version 12 of Windows Media Player. so I
have been looking for other CD extractor programs, ones that have very good
metadata sources to find as much detail as possible. The 2 that I am
running now on a trial basis are listed below. they both seem to work
pretty well with JAWS.

DBpoweramp -

Easy CD-DA Extractor

If anyone has knowledge or experience using these programs, especially with
JAWS, I would like to hear your comments or for you to contact me off list.

Thanks.
Rik James

Yes, agree. Aside from syncing my iPod to my books and music libraries, I
now use iTunes for ripping all my CDs. It does a much better job of
organizing the tracks and their titles into sensible folders, and allows
easy editing of the album information prior to ripping. I could never get
that level of control with Windows Media Prayer. And iTunes with the
BlindTunes scripts is much more accessible than WMP.

I may even look into using iTunes to burn CDs some day, but for now use Nero
Express OEM or Express Burn from NCH. Both of these are very accessible to
JAWS.

Howard, I'm very surprised you have never heard of iTunes.
It's the interface program between Apple iPods iPads and iPhones and
your computer. You can read about it at www.apple.com.
If you want to play with it, you'll want a copy of Blindtunes, the
excellent and free Jaws scripts for iTunes. Go to
www.blindtunes.net

Hello, Jaws will not read the itunes help files propperly in my
experience either! There are also bugs when trying to use the
itunes
store.
