The reasons for which you use this utility are the same reasons why I need such a thing - resizing for website posting.  I will reconsider this program failing anything better materializing; in which case I will let you know.

I also meant to say that the aspect ratio is maintained, and that's part of the reason for the rotation on portrait orientation pictures.

If you know that all the photos you're working on are the more typical landscape orientation no rotation comes into play at all, so keep that in mind.  My most frequent use of this utility is downsizing photos taken at very high resolution to make them "web posting friendly," which usually means either 640x480 or 1024x768.
