Just depends on if the audio is playing in browsers or media player!
But I think most times it's in the web browsers!

Would that also take out those incidents where you have to type in a verification code, and it gives you a verbal option to hear the code spoken?

Go to your sound card and turn down or mute your web browser.
The volume for your web browser will only show if you are making audio from your web browser!

As Mario says, often these stupid videos can't be stopped or the button to
stop them isn't a button and the video maybe so loud as to make it
impossible to find a way to stop it with Jaws. Only way I have found that
works is to use a USB headset or USB speaker which is its own sound device
and to route Jaws to this device in the Jaws settings. Then if a video plays
you can turn the volume way down or even mute the system volume without
effecting Jaws.

Sieghard

Shannon, look for a pause button and try pressing spacebar or enter.
sometimes the user is not given the option to stop a video.

Hi all,

I am trying to read an article on the web. When the page loads an obnoxious
video starts playing and I can't hear JAWS read the article. I tried the
audio duck but it is not working or not enough. I didn't notice anything
significant. I could not find any button to stop the playback. I used the
mouse, navigation keys and the touch curser.

How do you stop this stuff?

This was Jaws 18 and internet explorer.

Thanks

Shannon
