Actually, that key with Num Pad turned off is the JAWStoggle quoted messageShow quoted text
cursor, so plus sign is a non intity, it just happens to be
the same key, if Num Pad is on, which you do not want with
regular JAWS commands.

Press the numlock to toggle on allows numbers and symbols to
be inserted. Press it again to toggle to off status to
return to jaws functionality.
