Adrian, I put on keyboard help, then pressed insert plus spacebar. I got a
pair of ascending click tones just like when help was off. Any following
keypress did nothing obvious.

In the past, maybe back to version 8, I could press insert plus control plus
s and get a list of synthesizers (now voice profiles). One of them was no
speech. No speech is not there any more. I thought of creating a new voice
profile which had speech turned off and using it when I wanted braille only;
but I can't figure out how to get it done.

Any further suggestions? Thanks.

It works in JAWS 11. Press insert-1 (the 1 above the letters) to go into
key
identifier mode to confirm. Use the same mode to answer your earlier post.

insert spacebar then s gives me a pair of upward clicks; then the s does
nothing. This is version 11.

How about Insert+Spacebar, then the letter "S"? Just remember to do it
again to turn it back on.

How do I put jaws to sleep for an application? I knew how to do it
in the earlier versions; however can't find it in Jaws 12. I want to
