Re: Kertana and searching for a file, or for key words in a file
Everything search can search file contents, but unlike Windows Search the Everything does not index file contents, so searching on file content alone, unless you also combine it with a suspected file name/wildcard, will be painfully slow compared to a straight Everything search. See: https://voidtools.com/faq/#does_everything_search_file_contents
Sharon, hit the WinKey then enter "Cortana" sans quotation marks. You should get the "Cortana & Search" settings returned, probably as the first item. Once you've gained focus on that then hit enter to open it. In Version 1607 there is a toggle (checkbox) for "Search Online & include web results" which you will want to toggle off if you wish to avoid having web results in your Windows Cortana searches. -- Brian Presenting the willfully ignorant with facts is the very definition of casting pearls before swine.
