In order to stop the PDF from opening in IE and get it to open in Adobe Reader, you have to disable the “Adobe PDF Reader” add-on in the Web browser. In IE, go to Tools > Manage Add-Ons. Make sure the “Toolbars and Extensions” radio button is checked. TAB to the Filter list box, UP/DOWN ARROW to the All Add-Ons option, and press ENTER. Give them a second to load, then TAB over to the list of add-ons. Select Adobe PDF Reader, TAB to and activate the Disable button, then activate the Close button. Your PDFs should now open externally.

Subject: Opening PDF documents
I’ve got a medical form I need to download. It’s found by following a link, and the right mouse click doesn’t help. It’s opening in IE, how do I get the latest PDF reader to open such a document? I’ve searched for the correct option in Preferences, but it’s eluding me.
