I agree, Control+PageDown and Control+PageUp work for me whereas sometimes for no reason Jaws Key+Control+S does not bring up a list of available sheets. This seems to be intermittent because for the same workbook it usually works but sometimes it doesn't.

George,
It's likely that there is another assignment to that key combination on the laptop that is interfering with the Excel combination. You could map a different key combination in the Excel keyboard manager, or reassign the one that's conflicting.

It does work for me. Jaws Key which is the Insert or Zero on the Numpad pressed together with the Shift key and then an "S" as in "Sheet". Also pretty easy to remember. -----Original Message----- From: main@jfw.groups.io [mailto:main@jfw.groups.io] On Behalf Of george b Sent: Wednesday, January 18, 2017 6:02 AM To: main@jfw.groups.io Subject: Re: Jaws use with Excel

Sieghard,
Use the JAWS shortcut JAWS + Shift + S to bring up a menu of copy/move/insert/rename/protect/hide sheets.

How about renaming, moving/copying or deleting a sheet? Any shortcuts for that? Here are the ribbon shortcuts: Rename sheet: Alt+H followed by "O" for Format and "R" for rename Move or copy sheet: Alt+H followed by "O" and "M" Delete sheet: Alt+H followed by "D" for delete and "S" for sheet Insert sheet: Alt+H followed by "I" for insert and "S" or, as previously mentioned, Shift+F11
Regards, Sieghard

Cool. Either I never knew this, or did in my younger days and completely forgot. Appreciate the tip.

shift+f11 creates a sheet. At 04:31 PM 1/17/2017, you wrote:
Sieghard,
I use 2007 and I also use the Alt + h then i then s to insert a sheet.
Don't think F6 creates a sheet - not sure where that came from.

What version of Excel do you use? F6 doesn't add a new sheet to a workbook for me (I am using Excel 2016). I have to use Alt+H followed by "I" for insert and "S" for Sheet.

And how do you focus on the headers row?
The arrows don't do that, neither does tab and f6 adds a new sheet to the workbook.

Good thing you mentioned this because Alt+Shift+L doesn't do anything in Excel 2016.

There is another approach that is pretty easy, and is good if you expect to filter a column more often than once.
When focused on the row of column headers (any column header cell is fine) Press Alt+Shift+L. Now each column title will announce the title and "auto filter drop down". When on the column of choice, press Alt+DownArrow to bring up a list of filters and sorts you can Alt+perform on that column.
To turn off that feature, press Ctrl+Shift+L on any of the column titles.

I am not aware of any method easier for the blind than the applications key. You are certainly right that clicking the column label is not particularly easy for us.
