"Find" command and upgrading Jaws

Elaine Young <hidden_spring@...>

I am still on the elementary level of using Jaws and find this thread interesting. Thanks to all of you I now know the alternative ways to get to "find". But unless I am missing something, the benefit of using control plus f is that is the only "find" that locates all the words in the document that you are looking for and enables you to go from one to the next one. Is that correct? Or is there a way to travel through the selections when using the other two ways to go to find?

I am using Windows 10 and Jaws 17.

Also it was my understanding that if you wanted to upgrade through several versions of Jaws, the maximum FS would charge you is $400. But according to what some of you are saying, my information must be incorrect????

Thanks, I agree that Control+H with Alt+D gets you where you want to be.

How about using control+ h followed by alt + D?
I have not used control + f for "find" in Word since Word 2003.
The two keystroke approach (above) gives one the nice find feature of Word 2003, not the awkward "find" feature with control + f.

A few people have commented that JAWS 18 doesn't work well with the Find feature in Word on their computer. Here is how it was originally put:

Start snippet:
Using Word 2010 and Jaws 18 I can no longer use Ctrl-F to activate the find command in a document. It appears to allow one search then nothing happens.
I can still access find using Alt-H, f, d but that is a bit tedious!!
When I stop Jaws 18 and start Jaws 17 the problem goes away and I can use Ctrl-F no problem.
End snippet:

I and at least one other person find the same in Word 2016. Anyone else finding this?
