Re: A Question About Selecting/Using A Different Voice for Narrator via the Freedom Scientific TTS Download Site in Windows 10, Anniversary Edition
Hello Feliciano, toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
First, let me apologize to everyone for the typo in the word "Narrator".
Second, the default Narrator voices are available in the Narrator Settings
I was hoping to use one of the Freedom Scientific Jaws voices with Narrator.
You mentioned Sappi 5 voices.
Are not all of the additional Jaws voices, available for download, Sappi 5?
As I stated previously, I downloaded a Vocalizer Expressive voice and it
definitely does not appear as being available for Narrator. Or perhaps I
have not installed it correctly.

the voice should already be there by default. Sapi 5 is probably what you
are looking for as this is the default Microsoft narrator synthezizer.

Subject: A Question About Selecting/Using A Different Voice for Narator via
the Freedom Scientific TTS Download Site in Windows 10, Anniversary Edition
I could have sworn that I read somewhere, either on this list or on the web,
that it is possible to use any of the Jaws TTS engines with Narator.
In fact, now that I think about it, the people at the Microsoft acessability
line told me this, a while ago.
However, I just downloaded and installed a Vocalizer Expressive TTS engine
from Freedom Scientific and when I open the Voices drop-down list in
Narator, it is not listed as one of my options.
Did I download the wrong TTS engine?
All comments greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
