Moving An Email To A Different Folder

Hello, everyone.
I am having a problem.  I have emails that are sent to me and they end up in my junk folder.  I mark them as the sender being safe.  Then, I use the application key and move the email to my in box under my email address.  When I go to my in box, the email is not there.  I do a search and still cannot find it.  What am I doing wrong?  Where else can I look?  I have lost some important emails this way because I cannot find them.  I am using Windows Live.  Thank you for your help.
