I would suggest googling the "black monitor repair" . You will find solutions on how to repair this type of problem. There is even you tube videos on the topic.
You may have a problem with worn out capacitors in the monitor if it has been used a lot.

Most separate PC monitors have an on-off switch. have you looked for anything like that?

I hope someone can help, give me some ideas? As I stated in this subject
line my monitor won't come on. I've checked in the devices and clicked on
the monitor. It tells me this device is working properly but the screen is
