Re: language question

HAMILTON

This is the part I did not know about. Where would this "French synth
option" be found?

Thanks.

Why not just add the word in question to the dictionary manager but with the
French synth option?

Ted:

Well, that's the best I have heard so far. Both sound good; but, I might
prefer the first, "zhahn".

Mind you, my friend's name sounds more like a "soft j" Jan; so, let's see if
"zhan" does it -without the second "h".

Well what do you know! That's it exactly! I shall change my dictionary
accordingly.

Thank you.

I'd probably tell it to pronounce it as zhahn or zhauhn. Thought it's going
to have difficulty in differentiating it from when it talks about Jean
Stapleton or the actress Jean Simmons, not to mention of any blue jean pants
or skirts.

Hi, all:

Is there a way to get JAWS to replicate the French soft J sound, as in
"Jean Valjean"? I was trying to change its pronunciation of that name
in the dictionary manager program, but couldn't get it to pronounce it
as I knew it should be pronounced. Any pointers, appreciated! Thanks!
