Re: Installation of Windows 10

Do you run the repair with which we're all familiar, or the one recently discussed on this list? Oddly enough, it's coming up a lot now, but I never heard of the new command structure until early this summer.

I hate to correct anyone on the list, but I have to say that just because you are running Windows 8.1 does not mean you won't have to do a JAWS repair. I installed Windows 10 last night, and upon turning on my computer this morning, I got a message saying that the mirror display driver was not working properly. I did indeed have to run a JAWS repair. I was running the latest build of JAWS 16 as the FS instructions stated you had to install first. Not sure why this happened. Those of you who are upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 may encounter the same thing I did. Not to worry, once you run the repair, all seems to work OK. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:jfw-bounces@lists.the-jdh.com] On Behalf Of David Jennette via Jfw Sent: Saturday, August 8, 2015 7:08 AM To: 'The Jaws for Windows support list.' <jfw@lists.the-jdh.com> Cc: David Jennette <dcjenn@bellsouth.net> Subject: RE: Installation of Windows 10 If your upgrading from windows seven you'll have to do the repair so the mirror display driver can be removed. If your upgrading from windows 8.1 you won't need to do a repair at all because it and windows ten access things the same way. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:jfw-bounces@lists.the-jdh.com] On Behalf Of Aidan via Jfw Sent: Saturday, August 8, 2015 5:45 AM To: The Jaws for Windows support list. <jfw@lists.the-jdh.com> Cc: Aidan <aidan.smarttalk@gmail.com> Subject: Re: Installation of Windows 10 Because the upgrade will change technical components and the way jaws interact with windows so you must repair jaws. So josef, just too things. If I use the media creation tool, can I build an iso wich include a product key and where will I find the key if it being the case? And also, will I stil need sighted help or a talking desktop bootable when using that tool for install? If not, does that mean you build the complete install, or just the windows iso you need like it comes on the dvd?
