Joseph, take a look at PowerMixer:

there are some youtube tutorials done by someone that sounds like writer bren (I'm not sure of the spelling) on how to set it up, etc. She did make 1 and 3 others not related to setting it up. I don't know if she made more.

if you're looking for something free, there's sound volume view by the same makers, but haven't used it or don't know of any tutorials.
