Subject: RE: JAWS No Longer Works with iTunes Hi, Not sure what version of jaws your using, but I'm running jaws 14 with the latest version of iTunes, it takes a little getting used to but I can use all the functions of older versions of itunes in this latest iTunes version 12 (maybe not quite as fluidly, but it is possible). Would you like me to post how I navigate round the itunes window to get to the different parts I want? I'm by no means an expert but can add music to playlists, find and delete songs access ipod setting etc if there's anything in specific you are trying to access let me know, not guaranteeing I'll know the answer but I'll try lol Paul -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:jfw-bounces@...] On Behalf Of Michal Nowicki via Jfw Sent: Thursday, February 05, 2015 5:51 AM To: 'The Jaws for Windows support list.' Specifically, it is no longer possible to navigate the list of albums/artists because JAWS doesn't read the associated labels anymore, announcing "unlabeled" when I attempt to arrow through the list. However, other Windows screen readers, among them WindowEyes and NVDA, do read this information. Furthermore, I know from discussion forums that other JAWS users are experiencing the same issue, so it is clear that the problem is not local to my system. Therefore, since other screen readers interact with iTunes as they had before the update, I am convinced that version 12.1 somehow no longer recognizes, or works properly with, JAWS scripts that made previous versions quite accessible. I have already taken two steps to try to resolve this issue. First, I contacted Apple Accessibility Services, but the only thing they could do for me was help me revert to an earlier version of iTunes, though the person I spoke with did assure me that he would report the problem to the engineering department. After that, I downloaded and installed the BlindTunes JAWS scripts, but those no longer work, probably for the same reason the software no longer works out-of-the-box. That being said, can FreedomScientific do anything on its end to fix this problem? I and many other JAWS and iTunes users would greatly appreciate it. Please let me know if FreedomScientific is capable of making any changes, either independently or in collaboration with Apple, to restore JAWS compatibility with iTunes. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Sincerely, Michal Nowicki _____ No virus found in this message.
