Chuck, in addition, after uninstalling what you got now, installing 1.75,
you'll need to turn off updating of the program:
using the JAWS cursor, find and click on the settings tab, then an updater
tab, tab once to Download and install program update if available, & uncheck
this box.
Tab one more time to Notify me when a program update is ready for
installation and uncheck as well.
Now tab to Exit and press enter.

You can still use malwarbytes but you have togo back to version 1.75.
Anything later than that won't work, yet. Good luck.

Are there any comparable programs to Malware bytes that work with JAWS

The latest version of Malware bytes is not compatible with Jaws at this
time.

Why inhibit software updates? They come out with new versions because the
old one can't deal with the newest threats. It's a very good idea to
install
all available updates as soon as they're released.
