hello there;

assuming you know the password, and are able to boot to the desktop;
you can do the following;

1, access the run dialog,
windows key plus r,

2, type in the following;
control userpasswords2
press enter,

now look with the tab key to find the following;
Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer
the box is most likely checked, spacebar to uncheck this box.
now tab okay.

hope this helps.
if you don't know the password, then, the steps are much different.

Dear list,

I recently upgraded to windows 8.1. It is now asking me to put in a password
to log on to my computer. Where do I go to turn this off? Thanks
