FW: read only
Lisle, Ted (CHFS DMS)
Judith, I forgot to suggest that you navigate to the My Documents folder, prior to issuing the command. Do you know how to do that from a DOS prompt?

It's a DOS command, and must be run either from the run command, or from a dos box. I recommend the latter. Just go to run, and type or choose "command." That will place you at an old-fashioned DOS prompt, from which you can issue the attrib command. When you're through, just type "exit," and you'll be back where you were. Subject: RE: read only That's a good old DOS command that probably goes back to the beginning of the IBM PC. It's been around since at least DOS 3. It sets the archive bit on or off, and determines whether a file is read-only or editable. Plus turns the attribute on, dash turns it off. I think it's something like attrib -R *.doc, or whatever the extension may be. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:jfw-bounces@...] On Behalf Of john.falter Sent: Thursday, November 14, 2013 11:09 AM To: The Jaws for Windows support list. Subject: Re: read only It may be possible to uncheck all files using tanmsdos command like xcopy. I don't remember how, but you might find the way through Google. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Boyd" <mikeboyd61@...> To: "The Jaws for Windows support list." <jfw@...> Sent: Thursday, November 14, 2013 9:04 AM Subject: Re: read only Hello Judith, _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com |
