Re: JAWS Speaking in French

I don't have any idea why from a technical aspect, but, I have noticed
that on some wikipedia pages, jaws will read in various languages when
there is text on the page in whatever language that is part of the
info. I often search for music lyrics and one song had a history of
being a traditional swahealey (spelling?) song and jaws automatically
switched to swahealey. I would actually like to use jaws to brush up
on my French but just haven't got much time outside of work and
singing in the chorus to practice my French. I am just guessing that
there must be coding jaws recognizes that makes it switch to another
language and depending on what version of word you are using and where
the document came from, jaws is being triggered to go into French.
The only other guess would be a bug causing it to just randomly do
that, and I would contact Freedom Scientific to see if they can help
with a repair or reinstallation.

Morning everybody.

I'm using JAWS version 14 with Windows XP and Outlook and Word 2003.

JAWS is reading through a word document, but is pronouncing some of the
numbers in the document in English but with a French accent and some
words are randomly being spoken in French.

I'm also using a Braille Display along with JAWS but this continues to
work as normal.

Does anybody have any thoughts as to why JAWS may suddenly start
speaking random words in French.
