Yes, you must install it. Also, if you are using Windows7 64-bit, make sure
you downloaded the 64-bit version of 7zip.
Once the program is installed, put all the books you wish to unzip into one
folder. Then press control plus the letter a as in apple to select all the
files. Then press the Applications key (or if you have a laptop without an
Applications Key) press shift plus the f10 key for Applications.
Press the number 7 on the number row, and then press the Enter key. When
7zip starts, arrow down to "Extract to Star Dot Star, and press the Enter
Key again. The files should now extract.
Also, if you don't have your computer's folder options to "show known file
extensions, you may not be able to tell which files are the zip files, and
which are the unzipped folders, because without this setting, it won't
differentiate between the zip files and the unzipped ones.

Yes, with 7zip, you select multiple files, then use the Applications key,
or
on a laptop without the Applications key, use F10, then arrow down to
"Extract to *.*".
Thank you.

Can you do multiple files all at once with either winzip or 7zip? If so,
do
you just select more than one file at once?

Hi, Jane. You can also unzip multiple files by using a program for
Windows
called 7zip. If you have 7zip installed, press the Applications key and
arrow down to "Extract to *.*".
The Two stars with the dot in the middle signify "To their own folder".
Thank you.

I am new on this list. Somebody has told me that one can unzip multiple
files simultaneously as from BARD. If this is accurate, how is such
accomplished.
