Hi,

You can also try the following site:

www.komando.com

Here you will find a lot of software for anti-virus.

Anyone try Avira? It along with Avast, AVG and MSE are listed on Ninite.com.
AVG and Avast have been covered, but I don’t' recall anyone mentioning
Avira.
I used The Shield a few years ago and it worked well with Jaws, but it was
not free and I have no clue if the current version is still accessible.

Hi Roger,

Vipre is one of the most accessible anti virus softwares that I have
come
across. I tried Norton 360, BONK!, Avast, BONK! plus then I couldn't get it
off my computer, and some others, but none work like Vipre. As far as the
JAWS cursor, I typically use this as my default cursor, but I do use the PC
cursor when I cannot access something with the JAWS cursor, and it works
great. And, you didn't ask this, but the Malware Bytes is totally accessible
as well. Hope this works. Later, Michael

Hi Michael,
Vipre sounds real good, but how accessible is it with Jaws and Do
you
have
to use the Jaws cursor?
Roger.

I don't mean to jump in on your question, but Vipre products can be
found at
www.threattrack.com, and they will have the latest version available
for download. They have several products, and I use Vipre Internet
Security, because it offers mor protection than the Vipre Anti
Virus. But, the
2013 version is the latest, and when installed, it will
automatically
update
everything to today's latest threat definitions, etc. This is the
best protection I have ever owned for my computers, and is well
worth the
money.
I have not had a virus in years. So, there you go. Mike

The paid version of AVG is good, it is the free version that is
not so good.

What is not that good' about AVG?

Avast requires booting into safe mode for uninstalling. This while
possible if installing a registry hack to enable sound in safe
mode, will be quite daunting for the novice user.

Thanks much.

Thank you.
