hi Londa, according to ADE's webpage, XP sp3 is listed as a requirement, so

I don't understand why I'm having trouble. my PC has sufficient memory and fixed disk space. when I launch ADE, JAWS announces that the content area is in focus. I can arrow down about 5-6 times, then JAWS locks up for a few seconds, I can then arrow down once and JAWS locks up again. pressing the tab key, shift+tab, or alt key, navigating thru the menus works just fine. I had tried on a windows 7 64 bit PC and I have the same problems as with on XP. Yes, I have an Adobe account. after installing ADE and authorizing it, I was set (I thought), but ran into this brick wall. I wonder if the authorization applies to me or the computer?

I have done it with books that have DRM on them. I was using Windows 7, so I don't know if that makes a difference or not. What is happening when you try and read the book. Also, do you already have an account with Adobe? You need to create one if you don't already have one for digital editions to work. -----Original Message----- From: Jfw [mailto:jfw-bounces@...] On Behalf Of Mario Brusco Sent: Monday, August 26, 2013 11:19 AM To: The Jaws for Windows support list. Subject: using digital editions hi all, I'm taking a course that will use a cert guide/manual, and it's PDF is only available with DRM. Since I can't open it with Adobe Reader, I'm forced to use Adobe Digital Editions. After ADE was installed and authorized, do I need to change any settings, because I'm having a very difficult and frustrating time accessing the contents of the guide. I've had the same difficult time with ADE 2.0 and 1.8. I'm using XP Pro with JAWS 14, JAVA and Flash; all up to date.. I spoke to the publisher and explained I need the version that can be used with Adobe Reader, but the agent I spoke to could not help. And stated that the guide's PDF is only available with DRM. But the instructor for the course says that he spoke to the same company and he was told that the PDF that can be used with Reader is available. But I can't make any headway with the publisher when I call and explain. I emailed Freedom Scientific about it, but didn't get a response yet. Meanwhile... What should I do? What can I do? I'm not sure if the problem is DRM, Adobe Digital Editions, or both. I also don't know of any alternative program that can handle DRM, so suggestions and of where I can get it would be appreciated. _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com _______________________________________________ Jfw mailing list Jfw@... http://lists.the-jdh.com/mailman/listinfo/jfw_lists.the-jdh.com
