My previous message followed on an earlier suggestion that a repair can be done via "add and remove." As far as I can tell, this particular method doesn't work. I just tried finding the repair option in "Add or remove," but JAWS has only an uninstall option in the applications menu. Other applications have more options. Then you did a jaws update and the script broke. If I am right doing a jaws repair should take care of it. Go to "Add or Remove Programs" type "free" to get close and then find the version of jaws you are running. Select repair from the context menu.
