Hello Dani,
I appreciate hearing from you. I will make a note to remember this since it looks quite useful.
All the best,

Hi, Dennis.
When you use Insert+F7 to bring up the links list and arrow through the links to what you want, tab and find a Move to Link button; tab again and there'll be an Activate Link button.

Dani

Hello Dani,
What is the Activate Link feature? I'm not familiar with this.
Thanks
Dennis

Hi, Russell.
I'm not using Chrome or JFW 14 at this point. I'm using IE9 and JFW13 and
notice that links don't open when I press enter on them. I have to use the
Activate Link feature to get the link to open. Might not be a Chrome
issue, then.
Best,
Dani

Hi,

Are you also noticing that in Chrome sometimes pressing enter on a link
does nothing? I am experiencing this in the GMail inbox when using the
web mail version of GMail. I'll press enter on the subject of a message,
but it won't open the message. I end up having to route the Jaws cursor
to the PC cursor and do a left mouse click to open the message. This does
not happen when viewing GMail messages in Internet Explorer. It's too
bad... I think Chrome could be an excellent browser with a few tweaks.

Thanks,

Russell

Hi,
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a fix. I have been using
Chrome for a few years, and it used to work to do what you want it to
do, but in the latest updates it has been acting this way. I guess you
can contact your screen reader, and ask them to provide a fix, aside from
that, I don't think you can do much about it. What I do is I find the
edit feel, press space, so I can edit the text, then I press the "End"
key. I press back once, then put the letter I deleted, and I can now
check what I wrote using the "control" and left "arrow" key. Best, A On

Hi,

I'm noticing this behavior in any edit field in which I need to type
something. I thought it was maybe to do with the fact that my laptop is
about 7 years old and is a bit sluggish, but, I installed Chrome at work
this morning, and it does the same thing there on a pretty powerful, one
year old, desktop system. The text I type doesn't show unless I tab
away and then back to the edit field. Refreshing the screen doesn't
even make the text appear. The text also doesn't show up on my Braille
display until I tab away and back to the field. I hope this can be
resolved somehow because I really do love Chrome... it seems very quick.

Thanks,

Russell

I’ve tried bing on this end and so far no problems; I’ll give it a shot
on google and see what happens there.

Hi,

No, I just noticed it when trying to type in a search string at
Google.com. I will play with it a bit more and send in more info, as I
notice where this is happening.

Thanks,

Russell

Is it a specific site that this problem comes up?

If so, let me know which one it is and I’ll givwe it a try from here
and see if I get the same results.

Hi everyone,

I am trying out the Google Chrome browser, and really like it. It seems
quite fast. I am noticing though when typing in an edit field, that Jaws
14 won't read the text unless you tab away and then back to the edit
field.

Are there any tweaks or settings that I can change in either Jaws or
Chrome to make the experience a little better?

Thanks for any advice here.

Russell
