Hi,
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a fix. I have been using Chrome for a few years, and it used to work to do what you want it to do, but in the latest updates it has been acting this way. I guess you can contact your screen reader, and ask them to provide a fix, aside from that, I don't think you can do much about it. What I do is I find the edit feel, press space, so I can edit the text, then I press the "End" key. I press back once, then put the letter I deleted, and I can now check what I wrote using the "control" and left "arrow" key. Best,

Hi,
I'm noticing this behavior in any edit field in which I need to type something. I thought it was maybe to do with the fact that my laptop is about 7 years old and is a bit sluggish, but, I installed Chrome at work this morning, and it does the same thing there on a pretty powerful, one year old, desktop system. The text I type doesn't show unless I tab away and then back to the edit field. Refreshing the screen doesn't even make the text appear. The text also doesn't show up on my Braille display until I tab away and back to the field. I hope this can be resolved somehow because I really do love Chrome... it seems very quick.
Thanks,
Russell

I’ve tried bing on this end and so far no problems; I’ll give it a shot on google and see what happens there.

Hi,
No, I just noticed it when trying to type in a search string at Google.com. I will play with it a bit more and send in more info, as I notice where this is happening.
Thanks,
Russell

Is it a specific site that this problem comes up?
If so, let me know which one it is and I’ll givwe it a try from here and see if I get the same results.

Hi everyone,
I am trying out the Google Chrome browser, and really like it. It seems quite fast. I am noticing though when typing in an edit field, that Jaws 14 won't read the text unless you tab away and then back to the edit field.
Are there any tweaks or settings that I can change in either Jaws or Chrome to make the experience a little better?
Thanks for any advice here.
Russell
