Re: "Quote" verbalized in "say all" in Word 2010

Hi Adrian,

Can it possibly be a formatting issue? To turn / off the showing of
formatting characters keystroke is; Shift, Control, + 8, on the number
row.
HTH

Take care.
Mike

I just changed "Say all" from reading by sentence to reading by line without
pauses. It got rid of the closing quotation annoyance. A workaround, not a
solution.

Yes, that's a problem, too, which I've raised over the years with FS. But
here I'm talking about a standard double apostrophe-like closing quote. Dave
is on to something when he speculates that it may be a special MS code. I'm
pretty sure it's one of MS's so-called "smart" quotes. Too smart for me,
that's for sure.

Just thought of something. Is this a single quote? I've seen that problem,
and not just in Word.

As a newbie to Word 2010, I'm finding an irritant when reading with "say
all." JAWS says "quote" whenever a line ends with a quotation mark. What
makes it even more distracting is that JAWS has paused after the period, so
the quote" seems to belong to the next line. Can anyone suggest how to
eliminate this gnat?

I have JAWS 14 and Win7. My punctuation is set to "some," and I'd prefer not
to switch between punctuation settings each time I stop 'say all" in order
to edit.
