Hi Brian,

Below are steps to turn off the accessibility items for both XP & Win7.
Try the following:

Turning Off Accessibility Items InWindows7:

1. Go to the control panel & press enter on the Ease of Access Center link.
2. Tab many times to the , Make the keyboard easier to use link, & press
enter.
3. Tab through all the options & uncheck the pertinant checkboxes.
4. Tab to apply, press the spacebar / enter, tab to okay & press enter to
save changes & close.
5. Press Alt + F4 to close the Ease of Access Center.

For XP:

1. Open the control panel, select Accessibility Options, & press enter.
2. You should be on the Keyboard page so, tab through the options & uncheck
the necessary checkboxes.
3. Tab to apply, press the spacebar / enter, tab to okay & press enter to
save changes & close.
4. Press Alt + F4 to close the control panel.

How does one deactivate the sticky keys?

If I remember correctly, Dave Carlson recommends pressing the control key
repeatedly to unstick it. While you're at it, you might do the same with
the
shift key. Obviously, make sure you have nothing open that could be
affected
by such actions.

It's been a long time since I experienced this problem. When I did, my
solution was to reboot. Dave's solution is much superior.

Subject: issues with the control key being activated while I'm typing

Hi,

Sometimes while I'm typing for some reason, my control key gets
activated and that can mess up what I'm typing. I haven't pushed the
control key anytime recently usually when it happens. I'm using a
laptop with windows 7 and JAWS 13. Any suggestions would be great.
