Re: Lists in Outlook 2010

Hmmm,
When I click on manage rules and alerts, I land on the new rule button and
then I tab until I hear the move down button, press spacebar and all of my
rules appear and hit delete on the one I am wanting to remove and click
apply and ok.

Just in case I am not missing something, you are wanting to delete a rule
that you mistakenly created?

Kimsan, I appreciate this, but it idn't work for me. When I click on manage
rules, the only item that comes up is "New rule..." If I click on it, I go
where I know I don't want to. If I don't press enter, I can't arrow my way
out of it. So that leaves tabbing. Here I land on a list, but it's a series
of potential operations for what I assume is supposed to be a selected rule.
Nowhere am I finding that rules list, except in the "Run Rules" section.

Can you see anything I might be overlooking in my attempt to describe what
I've tried?

Adrian,
If you tab after clicking on manage rules and alerts, in the dialog, there
is a move down button, press spacebar on it and the rules will appear.

Dani, that did the trick. Thanks.

Hi, Adrian.
In the second situation, when you do your search for mail and the "read now"
button comes up, do an F6 to get to the search results. You should then be
able to arrow through the messages, and hit enter on the one you want to
read.
HTH,
Dani

Hi. I am unable to read lists in two areas in Outlook 2010, and I'm hoping
one of you will tell me what I'm doing wrong in each case.

First, while experimenting with message rules, I inadvertently created one
that is causing havoc. It's my understanding that when I go into manage
rules, a list of rules will appear. It doesn't. The only place where I can
produce a list of rules is later in the dialog, the run rules section.
However, I find no way to delete a specific rule there. Any ideas?

2. In Outlook 2003, I would press control+shift+f at the beginning of a
message list within a folder to search for messages with specific text, from
a certain sender, and so on. When MS completed the search, a button would
switch from "Stop" to something like "Read now. "This is still happening in
Outlook 2010. However, in 2003, a list of messages would then appear. I am
getting no such list in 2010, no matter how many times I tab around. Again,
any ideas?

Thanks.
