I'm sorry. I don't understand.

Thanks anyway.

This script could be really easy.
I think you are only going to need a couple of command.
1. Pass the key that calls the script through as a command within the
script. There is a specific function that does that.
2. Read the defined frame.
I have not written scripts for a while, but I'm 99% sure I'm right
here.
Otherwise, I think you have to hit the key that triggers the response
in the application and then hit the frame reading hotkey.

Thanks Dave. Hope I don't need to learn scripting just for this. I
have not the patients to study Jaws scripting. Tried before and gave
up.

There are lots of times one wants to trigger a frame with an
application's key command so this should be built in to frames but Jaws
complains if one tried to assign a keystroke that has already been used
or then the application won't activate because the key isn't passed
through automatically.

Bob,

Sounds like you need to write a script to do that. But that's not my
expertise, so only a guess.

How do I assign an applications key to also read a user created Jaws
frame? For example. I would like my recording program to read the
status when I press ctrl+r to start the recording so I'll know it
started.

Thanks.
