Open the Word options, Alt + T, then press the letter, O.

Down arrow to the Advanced category now tab until you find, show auto complete suggestions, uncheck this

You might also find the option to make your changes globally across all documents in this category.

Thanks, all. How do I implement these changes in a uniform way across all word documents? Right now, I have to do this separately for each document.

 

I am not seeing an option to do this in the settings centre, under proofing.

Hi Rahul,

In Word, bring up the file menu with alt+f, choos "Options" - it may be quicker to arrow up than down, choose "Proofing", choose "Auto correct" and have a play in there.
